New England SAPFM Meeting

Come share a day with people that share your interests in woodworking...because I doubt your wife does.

I will be set up at SAPFM's New England Chapter meeting this Saturday, 2/26. I will have a table full of planes to see, hold and try. The website states that preregistration is needed to "ensure admittance." You might still be able to sign up, I don't know but I think you should try...

"For further information, contact Bob Van Dyke at the CT Valley School of Woodworking at 860.729.3186 or Mickey Callahan at 508.954.1725."

From the website:
"The featured guest speaker will be Brock Jobe, Professor of American Decorative Arts at the Winterthur Museum. Brock will discuss Boston furniture from 1700 – 1825 with an emphasis on some of his favorite forms of furniture, including the classic Boston Queen Anne chair, the turret-top tea table, the serpentine bombe chest of drawers, and the bentwood chairs of Samuel Gragg. Brock will also delve into shop practices and construction techniques used to make these and other Boston furniture forms."

"In addition to Brock Jobe, the program will include talks by noted teacher and author of period furniture construction, design and carving, and SAPFM member Will Neptune along with Steve Brown, current member of the Cabinet & Furniture Making faculty at North Bennet Street School in Boston."

If you do not know who the Society of American Period Furniture Makers is you should check them out. Great website, great publication, great people.
